My story

Following 11 years as Senior Minister of Poynton Baptist Church Lori (my wife) and I spent a couple of years as volunteers with BMS world mission based mostly in the Peruvian Amazon helping to redevelop a training course for Pastors and Community leaders from the various river communities. Returning to the UK I was the Team Leader / CEO for Latin Link in Britain and Ireland for two years; a job which turned out to involve leading the mission agency through the Covid pandemic. Although back in the UK part of my heart remains in the jungle.

This blog has been through a few seasons. Initially it was hosted on typepad and focused mainly on things going on in the English Baptist world with a few posts related to my life as a local church minister. Then we reconfigured the blog to focus on the work we were doing in Peru. Now it is more a collection of reflections on mission, life and ministry as I combine working with mission organisations and churches alongside research and writing. However, all the posts are still here.

Needless to say, I’ve probably changed my views since the earliest posts were written. But this is a good thing and suggests I’m still growing and developing.
