Baptist Assembly ~ here we come

Off to Baptist Assembly (well BUGB’s) this weekend. I will try and post some comments as events unfold.

One thing I’m looking forward to is the recognition of ministers on Sunday evening. I’m always struck that the two occasions Assembly recognises your ministry are at the end of the accreditation period and after your death. The baptist ministerial equivalent of the creed’s born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, crucified… with no mention of the ministry in between! Anyway this year’s recognition includes Ruth McCaughren who starts as Associate Minister here next week having had a successful few years in Woolwich. 

Spare a thought also for those members of the BUGB and BMS staff who work hard on the assembly, not just over the weekend itself but throughout the year; and for those who are involved in the content of assembly whose efforts are then discussed, debated and dissected.
